Akankshi district in-charge Shri Suresh Kumar Basishtha visited Rayagada district for two days and reviewed the progress in various areas today. The review meeting was held at the Sadhvabhana Sabha, the local district rural development agency, and was attended by Rayagada district commissioner Shri Saroj Kumar Mishra, district rural development agency project director Shri Maheshwar Chandra Naik and other district level officials. The meeting reviewed the phases in accordance with the criteria set by the Government of India. In particular, he reviewed health and nutrition, education, agriculture, infrastructure, skills development, and financial inclusion. From April to July, the departments discussed in detail the progress of the program. He spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important for women and children. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: "One of the things you and other people can do is keep up the pressure ... there are going to be some difficult decisions for government". He also discussed agriculture, horticulture and veterinary medicine and advised departmental officials to make progress.
Among the other officials at the meeting were the District Chief Medical Officer, Drs. Arthabandhu Nayak, District Education Officer, Purnachandra Bariha, Project Director, Watershed Mission, Shri Dayanidhi Bagh, District Chief Agriculture Officer, Shri Dushasan Prahraj, District Chief Veterinary Officer, Raigad, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Shri Patit Paban Samantara Mr. Dhirendra Bihari and other officials were present.
